Me and the F-man

I spent the better part of the week alone with Felex. Mr. Felex. F-man. Fefe. Fedex. Theyre all the same little guy.

You could set your clock by the questions.

"What's for breakfast?"

"What's for lunch?"

"What's for snack?"

"What's for dinner?"

"What's for snack?"

"What's for desert?"

"Do I have to go to school?"

"Why do I have to go to school?"

"Really, why do I have to go to school?"

"Can I go to bed at 9:30 like mom let's me?"

"Why can't I go to bed at 9:30?"

"What do we have for snack?"

Repeat as necessary.

All in all, we had a very fun time together. 4 days of cartoons, frozen food, no work, lazen' around the house.

Good times, good times.

Cold rain

The cold weather has finally hit. At last, we have rain, and cold. No snow, but it is cold. With rain. I hate cold rain. Just a few more degrees and it would be cold enough to snow. I like snow. Maybe not enough to live in an area where it will snow every year, and stick. But, enough to live in an area where, if it did snow, I wouldn't mind.

Wait. That is here. Occasionally it does snow. Crap. I just don't like the 38 degree rain. I mean really, it may as well just snow. If it is raining, I falsely think that it is not too cold out. It certainly can't be near freezing if it is raining, right?

Wrong. Just a few degrees above and, you guessed it, rain.

Snow gives me an excuse to use the 4 wheel drive feature of my truck. Not that it does exceptionally well in the snow mind you, but I feel better when I use all the capabilities of my truck than just a few. To be nimble in the snow in a 4 wheel drive you need to be moderately light. My diesel powered Dodge is anything but light.

Truth be told, I have used the 4 wheel drive option more times when I was not in snow than when I was. Sure I have used it "continuously" longer in snowy conditions, but....

I have had to use 4 wheel drive to keep my truck from rolling down hill when I was loading a car on a trailer while pointing down hill. Oddly enough, setting the parking brake does nothing when the rear wheels of the truck come off the ground when you are driving a heavy car onto a trailer. The back of the trailer goes down. The front of the trailer goes up. It is connected to the rear of the truck. The rear of the truck goes up. If the rear of the truck goes up, then there is NO braking action/holding action to cause the whole freaking works to stay in one place. So, you take a short trip down hill in your truck and trailer while you are in a car behind the whole thing. No too fun, but a valuable lesson learned.

All that aside, I still don't like it when it is this cold and only rains.

Spent

Wow!

There was a whole lot of nothing for a while.

I worked some and loafed some.

Spent time in the emergency room with Dex.

Spent time waiting for a tow truck, again :(

Spent time looking for a new bed.

Spent time with the kids.

Spent time watching cartoons, with and without the kids.

Spent a lot of time driving.

Spent no time writing.

Spent time moving stuff out of storage.

Spent time figuring out how to spend time.

Spent a lot of time on the computer.

Spent my wasted youth years ago... Or is that mis-spent?

Spent all my money on a bob-tail nag (camptown races).

So, now that I'm spent, I should have less nothing to do.
